Dr. B. Ellie Stivala officially joined Texas Eye and Laser Center in August of 2024. She is certified by the Texas Board of Optometry as a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist who practices full scope optometry.
She grew up in Kingwood, Texas and graduated from Southern Methodist University with her Bachelor of Science in Biology as well as in Health and Society with minors in Spanish and Chemistry. After her undergraduate studies, she graduated from the University of Houston with her Doctorate of Optometry in May of 2023.
After graduating from optometry school, she completed an ocular disease residency at the Community Eye Clinic in Fort Worth. During her residency, she treated and managed many ocular conditions in their advanced manifestations such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, uveitis, and various neuro-ophthalmic conditions. Additionally, she managed pre-operative and post-operative cataract patients, fit medically necessary specialty contact lenses and routinely co-managed with cornea, glaucoma, and retina specialists.
Dr. Stivala is a member of the Texas Optometric Association, Tarrant County Optometric Society, American Optometric Association, American Academy of Optometry and Texas Public Health Association – Vision Care Section. She has a passion for service/mission trips and is working on becoming fluent in Spanish.
In her free time, Dr. Stivala enjoys spending time with her husband, dog, family and friends whether it is exploring Fort Worth or traveling around the world.
